RiseUp Women’s Sports is an independent women’s sports media platform dedicated to amplifying coverage of women’s athletics through game coverage, interviews, and on-the-ground reporting.
Founded by Bernadette “Bernie” Beale, RiseUp Women’s Sports was created to provide consistent, authentic, and visible coverage of women’s sports at the professional, collegiate, and grassroots levels.
RiseUp Women’s Sports covers women’s basketball, women’s hockey, women’s soccer, women’s tackle football, and other women’s sports—highlighting athletes, coaches, and stories that deserve to be seen and heard.

💜 Bernadette “Bernie” Beale is the Founder and Editor of RiseUp Women’s Sports, an independent women’s sports media platform dedicated to empowering, celebrating, and amplifying women’s athletics through authentic storytelling and coverage.
With a lifelong passion for sports and a deep commitment to representation, Bernie created RiseUp Women’s Sports to give women athletes—from grassroots to professional—the visibility they deserve. Her work focuses on capturing the full scope of women’s sports through game coverage, athlete and coach interviews, original reporting, and community-driven content.
Under her leadership, RiseUp Women’s Sports has grown into a recognized voice in the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) region, covering high school, collegiate, and professional women’s sports while continuing to expand nationally.
Bernie is a multimedia journalist and creative visionary who believes women’s sports deserve the same visibility, respect, and investment as any other level of sport.
