The Sirens picked up a 2–1 victory over Victoire on January 18 at Capital One Arena as part of PWHL Takeover DC, in front of a crowd of 17,228 fans, setting a U.S. record for the highest attendance in U.S. women’s hockey history.
Both teams traded scoring chances throughout the contest, with the Sirens capitalizing on key opportunities to build a narrow lead. Victoire continued to apply pressure and generate offensive looks, but the Sirens’ defensive structure and timely plays proved the difference as they held on for the one-goal win in front of a historic crowd.
