Elena Rybakina is the new world No. 1.
Rybakina rallied from a set down to defeat Zheng Qinwen 3–6, 6–1, 6–4 and advance to the US Open semifinals. The comeback victory moves Rybakina past Aryna Sabalenka and into the top position in women’s tennis for the first time in her career.
