Washington clinched its playoff berth on August 23, 2026, with a 105–100 win over Portland at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, together with Chicago’s loss.
The Washington Mystics are headed to the 2026 WNBA Playoffs after officially clinching a postseason berth Sunday night.
The playoff berth marks an important milestone for a Mystics team that has continued to build momentum throughout the season. Washington has put together several impressive stretches at home while establishing itself as one of the league’s strongest rebounding teams.
The Mystics’ postseason berth also represents another step forward for a roster featuring a mix of young talent and veteran leadership. Players including Shakira Austin, Sonia Citron, Kiki Iriafen and Cotie McMahon have played key roles for Washington throughout the season as the team battled its way into playoff contention.
