Washington Mystics vs Toronto Tempo ended with Washington completing a 4-0 season sweep of Toronto and extending its home winning streak at CareFirst Arena to eight games.
Washington became one of only two teams this season to defeat Toronto four times, joining the Atlanta Dream. The victory also improved the Mystics to 13–6 at home, as Washington continues to build momentum late in the season.
Defense Sets the Tone
The Mystics established themselves defensively, holding Toronto to just nine points in the second quarter, the lowest-scoring quarter in Tempo franchise history.
Washington also continued to control the glass, outrebounding Toronto 43–27. It marked the 32nd game this season in which the Mystics won the rebounding battle, tying the second-highest single-season total in WNBA history.
The Mystics have now posted a double-digit rebounding advantage 15 times this season, another indication of how important their work on the boards has been to their success.
Austin and Iriafen Lead the Frontcourt
Shakira Austin and Kiki Iriafen helped set the tone inside as Washington used its size, physicality and presence in the paint to challenge Toronto throughout the game.

Mystics Continue to Protect Home Court
Washington’s eight-game home winning streak dates back to its July 22 victory over the Las Vegas Aces and is tied for the second-longest single-season home winning streak in franchise history.
With the regular season moving toward its final stretch, the Mystics have turned CareFirst Arena into one of their biggest advantages.
For Washington, the victory over Toronto represented more than another win. It completed a season sweep, extended an impressive run at home and provided another example of the consistency the Mystics have developed during the second half of the season.
